Click  WHAT IS AN INTENDER?

The term "Intender" comes  from the old Operative Lodges of Scotland. In the first Grand Lodge the Intender was an important official, entrusted with the instruction of new candidates.  The word "intend" meant: to teach,  extend,  and expand the understanding of the Art of Masonry especially to the younger craftsmen.
